Stephen Dixon
"I design my jewelry to be fun and playful and give the wearer pleasure and confidence each time it's worn."
Stephen Dixon has been designing and creating jewelry in his studio for more than 20 years. Both the inspiration and execution of his ideas have become refined and integrated into a very natural and organic process. The artist is interested in several themes: architectural forms; the relationships of masses to their surroundings, both on the body and off, the distillation of forms to their essential elements and the emotional content and meaning of those forms.

Dixon expresses these themes in his jewelry, which is often understated, refined, and elegant. He creates his work in 18K colored golds and platinum in a variety of finishes. Dixon utilizes many processes. He combines lost waxcasting with fabrication to create his "Sequentials" series, which features interchangeable modular rings that offer variations of scale, color, and precious gems.
